My (incomplete) scene from Rad Sechrist's class

Hey guys!
Here's part of the scene I did for Rad Sechrist's storyboarding class. At the time I assembled these pages (I applied to Dreamworks) I had not finished the scene. I'll post the rest when I assemble the pages.

A side note, I've been assured that the scene reads and makes sense when each panel is viewed full screen, but I'm worried that some of the subtleties that hold it together will be lost at this size, so please look at the pages as big as possible.

So, here's some setup, since my scene is scene 04.

The project is called "The Haunting of Science Falls." The story is about Max, who has been raised believing that science can explain all, and that there is nothing more important that advancement of technology. His journey forces him to reconsider these teachings and to find the value in all life.

He lives in a stuck up, science oriented town that's just about reached their energy producing capacity and must find a new power source. Max is the son of the head-hancho of the scientific community, and he very much wants to live up to that name.

The town denies anything and everything that can't be explained by science, but early on we meet a group of curious ghosts from a town deep in the forest.

In this scene Max is working late in to the night, trying to figure out why his power-source machine doesnt work.













From here, Max basically tries to capture the ghost, and chases her around the room. She escapes from the room by bursting out the window, but she leaves behind some ectoplasm. When it's discovered, it sends the plot hurling forward.

"Fearbot" fight from Advanced Storyboarding final

This is the fight scene from my Advanced Storyboarding final project. Setup:

Fearbot (the robot) is trying to patch things up with his girlfriend Emily, but is disrupted when the Olympus Mons-ter attacks.

"Avatar" storyboard from "Seinfeld"

This is a storyboard/animatic I did from a class assignment. We were given an audio clip from "Seinfeld" and told to storyboard it using Aang and Ty Lee from "Avatar: the Last Airbender."

"Avatar" Blade Fight

Hey there! This is a storyboard/animatic I did for Jay's storyboarding class in the fall of 2008. The assignment was to board a fight between two characters from the series "Avatar: the Last Airbender," and it had to be a blade fight.

So, without actually seeing any episodes of the show, I boarded this fight between Iroh and Aang:

So here's a fight scene that I did. Sorry for the small size, I had to get it under 100mb for Blogger.

This is the fight that precedes the storyboard a few posts below. The fight is something like 300 pages long, so I just uploaded the animatic.

So, I guess the lead in would be Fearbot, the robot, needs to fight the monster, who came crashing down from Mars and has lava powers.

Act III of my Advanced Storyboarading project

This is from Act III of my Advanced Storyboarding project. The project was completed in the Spring of 2007. It is an original story and the only criteria was that we needed to use three songs for the animatic. So, leading up to this scene, Fearbot (the robot) defeated the baddie from the project. The girl is Emily, his girlfriend. They'd been arguing, but she helped him win the fight.













































The board goes on for another 60 pages or so, but this is just a sampling of my work so I probably wont post the rest. If I do, it'll be on this blog!
